What Next?
If you're starting to think that counselling may be for you, then you can use the 'Contact' link on the left hand side of this page, to make contact with me by email. I will then ring you back as soon as I can. Do make use of the enquiry box on that page to give me any details you feel may be relevant. This is especially important if you feel it is not safe for you to have phone calls at home, I can then make sure I ring your mobile. If you don't want me to leave a message, that too is fine. If someone else answers the phone and you are not in, I will just say that I am Lin, a friend, and that I will call back later.
Once I receive your email, I offer you a free 15-minute telephone consultation, where I will ring you and invite you to tell me a little about the reasons for you making contact, and we can also arrange a face-to-face 'assessment' meeting where we can discuss things in more detail. That one-hour assessment meeting will be an opportunity for you to get to know me, and feel confident that you are comfortable working with me, and for me to make sure that counselling is likely to be the best and most appropriate way forward for you, having heard a little more about your situation.
If we decide at the assessment that counselling is appropriate, then we will at that stage discuss dates and times for future sessions. Future sessions will last 50 minutes and will be weekly, on the same day and time each week.
If you're not sure whether to access counselling or not, you've nothing to lose by making contact as our first 15-minute telephone conversation is completely free of charge. You can then ask any questions you wish to before making any commitment.
I look forward to hearing from you.
